Maine, Anonymous
Hollow New England white-winged scoter decoy, by unknown maker. The extremely long inlet head and attention to detail, such as the carved slit under the eyes and bill nostrils, likely carved by someone who has studied and gunned these birds. The body is hollow and very light with a single flattened lead keel secured by two brass screws with a leather line tie. This scoter is folky and well-made with lots of personality.
