German, Initialed “SW”
A rare, scarcely encountered gray stoneware four-sided case bottle flask. Made with slabs and having a tooled narrow spout, and rounded shoulders, each impressed with flower. Three panels are incised and brushed in cobalt. The crucifixion of Jesus is flanked by full-length man and woman, and four angels. Surmounting the applied ornamentation are the initials “SW”.
