U.S. Springfield Model 1855 Pistol-Carbine with Appropriate Detachable Shoulder Stock

Standard configuration rifled with three lands and grooves; 12″ barrel with rear two-leaf sight on tang; leaves marked 1, 2, 3 and 4, V/P eagle proofs on left flat of barrel; also dated on tang 1855. Lockplate dated in rear of lock 1855, Maynard primer door displays a beautiful crisp eagle; forward of door is the standard U.S. SPRINGFIELD mark. Captive rammer and sling loop on the band, butt of the pistol and toe of the stock. The heel of the brass buttplate is stamped US. Stock is sound. A very attractive example with roll of original Maynard caps.

Item Date: Marked 1855

Measurement: .58 Caliber Rifled Bore. 12" round barrel, faceted breech. Overall length of pistol: 17.75" with stock attached.

Material: Excellent, all metal parts cleaned bright; stock cleaned; buttstock is period however numbers not matching. Action is tight and smooth, excellent rifling.
