Ohio
A rare and large stoneware crock, Ohio in origin decorated with wonderful folky cobalt floral design, which includes a tulip. This style of tulip ornaments decorated objects made by German immigrants and potters throughout Pennsylvania and Ohio during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The crock is also decorated with a Roman numeral “X” in cobalt, which likely represents the ten gallon capacity.
