This folky decorated stoneware jar is adorned on one side with a well-executed bird on a stump surrounded with leaves applied in cobalt slip. The reverse side is decorated with the script “2.G.” This jar is part of a small group of related objects that are believed to have been made in New Jersey in the mid-19th century.
