Charles W. Braun Ran the Old Heiser Pottery in Buffalo
This four-gallon crock was made by Charles W. Braun who ran the old Heiser pottery in Buffalo from 1857-1896. The crock is decorated with a very large, stylized bird with raised wings perched on a spotted vine.

Item Condition: Minor imperfections that do not compromise the aesthetic… "1 3/8" rim chip. Scattered small [trivial] chips to interior of rim. Light wear to top of rim. Light wear to edge of each handle and a small chip to one handle. A 2 1/4" Y-shaped surface line to side of crock, not visible on interior. A 2 3/4" vertical line to midsection to left of front. Some very trivial staining to surface; displays well. A 2 5/8" x 1 5/8" flake to underside at edge. A 1 1/4" x 7/8' chip to bottom edge and a 5/8" chip to bottom edge. A minor in-the-firing iron ping to bottom edge. A 3" Y-shaped surface line to reverse, not visible on interior.
