Single Action Belt Model Revolver, Finest Extant Example, 95% Silver, 85%+ Blue

Lucius W. Pond, Worcester, Massachusetts

Single Action Belt Model Revolver, Finest Extant Example, 95% Silver, 85%+ Blue

One of the finest condition surviving Pond Single Action Belt Model revolvers found to date. It retains over 95% original silver finish oxidizing to a gray/black. Fortunately, the gun was never polished. It has figured walnut grips which are intact with 5% varnish; mechanically fine with excellent markings. The factory screwdriver is still in its storage place in the butt. Pond was put out of business early when sued by Smith & Wesson for patent infringement. Only a few thousand were made. The gun has an iron frame; barrel displays standard Pond markings and Smith & Wesson markings indicating that it was taken by S&W in reparation for patent infringement.
