E/LM Encircled in Pellets
This bottle was recovered from an unrecorded site at Shaftesbury, Dorset. The seal suggests a couple, with surname beginning with E, the husband’s Christian name beginning with L and the wife’s beginning with M. The couple have not been identified. The earlier shaft and globe bottles from the 1650’ s have a rounder body. This one has marvering of the lower aspect, the beginning of the shape transition from shaft and globe having a heart shape. This bottle features a particularly lovely form.
