This is a typical late seventeenth century posset pot displaying blue and white decoration featuring flowers, sprigs and leaves. The squat baluster body with frontal “S” shaped tubular spout allowing user to suck liquid from the bottom of the pot, leaving the solids floating on top. There are two lateral ear shaped handles to lift the pot to the drinker’s mouth.

Item Condition: There is no cover, overall, good with typical [trivial] scatted glaze ware to high spots such as handle edges; a small shallow chip and a small amount of trivial roughness to top of rim; displays well. Scattered areas with very old restoration that do not distract.
