This is a typical late seventeenth/early eighteenth century posset pot which is unusual for having polychrome decoration of this pattern. Most are blue and white. The squat baluster body sits on a short ring foot. The body flares slightly at the top. The āSā shaped spout allows the liquid in the bottom of pot to be sucked by the drinker, leaving the solid elements floating on the top. Two ear shaped side handles allow the drinker to lift the pot for drinking. The domed lid, surmounted by a button knob, displays decoration done in the same style and palate as the body.
