Although rarely encountered, the use of ash legs is sometimes found on Boston highboys. The Oval top is raised on double-splayed block and ring-turned reverse-tapered legs resting on button feet; joined by plain apron and box stretcher. The table features a very nice surface which may have originally been grained with a dark fugitive pigment.
