Outstanding US Model 1836 Flintlock Pistol by Asa Waters, Millbury

The Model 1836 pistols manufactured by Waters generally saw much use (unlike those by Johnson, many of which were not used) therefore it is very unusual to find a Waters pistol in truly nice condition…a great collector’s specimen. A clean example…the lock is clearly marked A. WATERS – MILLBURY, MS. – 1842; the left rear of barrel is marked at breech: US over NWP over P. The wood is excellent, sharp contours; great grain, two good cartouches on the left side: JH and WAJ. This example is in original flint; rammer assembly is original. All metal parts in very good bright condition with some scattered and minor dark mottling…miniscule shallow smooth pitting at right side of .54-caliber 8.5-inch barrel, above rammer assembly which we mention for accuracy; doesn’t distract or compromise. Brass blade front and “U” notch rear sights; detachable brass flash pan; swiveling ramrod, single barrel band attached to the side plate. Mechanically excellent, smooth and tight action.
