Friedrich Krebs, Southeastern, Pennsylvania 1749-1815
(Berks County) The artist’s initials are printed at the base of large heart… “F. K.”. The Fraktur was likely printed at Adler’s in Reading, Pennsylvania.
The text within the large heart reads: “GEBURTS und TAUFSHEIN” (Birth and Baptism). The standard main text blanks were inscribed by Krebs.

Material: Watercolor and ink on paper, modern painted wood frame.
Item Condition: Very good, strong color, typical scattered light foxing; short crease at 3 o'clock with tight fissure... any imperfections are typical and trivial... consistent with age. Not examined out of frame.
