Both Stockel and Blackmore publish candidates for possible maker
The octagonal barrel with front blade sight is inlaid “FISHER * LONDON” in gold, and stamped DU-466. The breech and barrel tang are beautifully engraved as is the tang screw. The single screw lockplate is signed FISHER; the cock, frizzen and lockplate are engraved as is the triggerguard which features an engraved pineapple forend and long tang. The silver buttcap is engraved as is its screw. Barrel key escutcheon is silver. The ramrod [horn] retains its tip and worm and appears to be original. The stock is finely checkered.

Material: Walnut stock, steel furniture, gold inlayed band at breech; gold touchhole. Gold inlayed maker’s mark. Silver oval thumbpiece and buttcap.
Item Condition: Overall, very good original condition; mechanically fine, stock displays a dark patina; likely the original finish. Tight and trivial fissure near barrel channel.
