In both Greek and Roman mythology, Hermes/Mercury, the fastest of all gods wears a winged hat and winged sandals. He carries the Caduceus, a short staff entwined by two serpents, surmounted by wings. In his other hand is a satchel. Hermes/Mercury is Zeus’ messenger, God of Commerce and Market, God of Thieves… guide of the dead.

The pierced silhouette is chisel cut and filed, dark patina.

Material: Copper, traces of gilt
