Date/Period: David Hall Hilliard built underhammer guns in Cornish from 1842-1877 (died in 1877)
Octagonal barrel having numbered front sight and cantilever rear site; brass furniture, engraved trigger guard and buttplate; long iron barrel tang is grooved to adjust rear sight elevation. Trigger guard is marked 1275 as is front sight. Carved cheekpiece with sharp contours ornamented with inlayed German silver stag. A very nice example.

Item Condition: Barrel displays a beautiful smooth plumb/brown color, lots of blue on rear site; hammer doesn't always hold. Overall excellent.
