A Very Early Manufacture. Includes its original Civil War period holster!
Early Hartford address SAML COLT/HARTFORD CT., standard frame marking; iron back strap and trigger guard (instead of the later brass); .36-caliber percussion; 6 1/2″ barrel. The gun has seen considerable use, we note all matching numbers except the wedge which is numbered 851. Metal is mostly brown with some blue on rammer assembly. Walnut grips are original and display original varnish and dark patina; very minor smooth wear to both sides of butt. Mechanically fine. Holster retains strap. Leather is supple.
