Cased pair small Belgian percussion pistol with round barrels proofed PF over crown; steel frames and barrels which are finely damascened; ivory bag grips; box lock. Cased with combo mold and case colored barrel wrench in leather-covered wood octagonal case with gold border.
With typed note: “History / This pair presented to S. Bechtold Gun Maker in Switzerland A Zurich 1854 by the prime minister to France for Services Rendered” There was a Samuel Bechtold gunmaker in Zurich in that period.
