Unknown Maker, Likely a Great New England Maker
From the legendary A.E. Brooks Collection, Hartford, Connecticut
The frame, backstrap, trigger guard, and half the octagonal barrel are acanthus scroll engraved as is the hammer. Cheek side displays a stag. Dovetailed wedge front sight; “V” notch rear sight; rear entry pipe neatly dovetail joined to breech. Original rammer with brass forend. Very nice figured walnut grips with robust color; impressed with collector’s number 2688.
