This elegant lighting device featuring a tapered file-worked jaw and tubular candle socket within a brass grease pan counterweight is raised on a simple wrought square-to-round standard continuing to the oak base with chamfered corners and dark surface.

Item Date: 18th Century (circa 1750, possibly earlier)

Measurement: Height: 48.5"; base: 9.5" x 4.5" x 3.75"

Material: Wrought iron and brass

Item Condition: There is a small stress crack [forge crack] with all else excellent.
