This oval-top table, probably Boston, with a Newbury area history, displays an outstanding old surface, and retains its dovetailed drawer. The ring and baluster turnings are robust and deeply cut as are the stretcher turnings, and the tall, double turned feet. The table retains traces of red and black paint.

Item Condition: Excellent condition with fine old surface; table retains three original butterfly hinges – one of the original butterfly hinges was replaced in the 19th century. One leaf with shrinkage crack; drawer case and guide are original however drawer front is restored. The table is a rare survivor, any imperfections are trivial and commensurate of age and centuries of use.
