A fine transitional chest of drawers, the rectangular top with applied cove-molded cornice over map drawer concealed in frieze above two-over-three thumb-molded drawers flanked by solid ends, the whole raised on an applied cut-out bracket-foot base with central drop finial.
The chest retains original delicate wrought-iron pulls and an early, possibly original, bittersweet-painted surface now oxidized to a dark red.

Material: Pine, paint, original wrought-iron drawer pulls.
Item Condition: Very good overall condition with minor to moderate scattered wear commensurate with age and use. Old break and repair with associated small loss to one end [bottom corner] of map drawer facing. Minor shrinkage cracks to case ends as depicted. Map drawer pulls likely old additions.
