Featuring brushing slide in frieze, pullout surface used as dressing table or desk. The chest was well used for generations, it displays beautifully; overall good condition with wear being commensurate with age and use.

Item Condition: The dark reddish crusty nineteenth century finish displays and overall piled/puckered surface. The chest retains its original drop pendant, feet, and knee returns. Shrinkage splits to side/seams of the upper case; other trivial age cracks to back and bottom boards. The drawer pulls, while showing age, are replaced, including the upper shell-carved drawer ring-pull. (Traces of lacquer residue are visible on some brass backplates.) Some locks are retained... a few are missing. Many of the upper case drawer guides are replaced. Both front feet which are original show evidence of being reglued. Some foot talons show wear. The top left drawer has an old 1-inch by 1.5-inch chip that was reglued (prior to 19th century refinish).
