Footed lidded six-board chest featuring original painted decoration. Features favored by the South Shaftsbury School include rear foot brackets being notched into backboard; lid of till features a beaded edge with an incised line parallel to rounded edge. The overall form, especially foot/apron design, the faux graining, and other painted ornamentation such as stringing and cross-banding are closely related.
