New Hampshire Surcharge, Dated 1811
All original, excellent markings; never cleaned, with State of New Hampshire surcharge on the barrel; inspector’s cartouche is V / EM. A gorgeous New Hampshire gun, it is untouched. Brothers Charles & Robert Leonard of Canton, Mass, were contract makers
for the US Model 1808 musket. This gun was made for the State of New Hampshire.
Barrel and other metal is a smooth plumb-brown color; mechanically tight and smooth.
