The plate is set within four panels [support for needlework] centered by applied moldings. A squirrel, hillocks, plants, trees, and a parrot in tree.
The half round moldings are covered in brick-red cloth. The original backboard remains as does a granny label dating to 1887 – “From G. Davis, given by Will to M. M. Bradly / June 14, 1887.” There is another modern sticker inscribed “Van Riper” family, New Jersey of which we have no verification.

Item Condition: Overall, even fading [colors remain quite strong], scattered fabric losses to moldings as depicted, else fine and original; displays well.
