Molded Medallion “GR” (George Rex) [Georgius Rex, King George of England]
An ovoid salt glaze stoneware jug, the elaborate incised floral and leafy decoration brushed in cobalt, the turned (reeded) neck heightened in manganese purple. A central [elaborate] applied molded roundel displays initials “GR” beneath crown flanked by birds, beneath the royal cypher is winged cherubs’ head; The roundel enclosed within wreath.
